Delegation from Institut Polytechnique de Paris Visits Shanghai Jiao Tong University

From November 4th to 5th, 2024, a delegation led by Christopher CRIPPS, the Vice President of Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IPP), visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The delegation included Sebastien REYMOND, Head of International Cooperation at ENSTA Paris, Marie-Christine BERT, Head of International Cooperation at École des Ponts ParisTech, Nicolas PROST, Head of International Programs at Télécom Paris, and Huiling CHEN (Chen Huiling), Head of Marketing and Communications at the IPP Office in China. Guo Liang, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhang Wenming, Chinese Dean of SPEIT, Zied MOUMNI, French Dean of SPEIT, Chen Cailian, Party Committee Secretary, Lu Jialiang, Vice President, Yao Xue, Deputy Party Secretary, and Zhong Shengyi, Vice President, also attended the reception.

During the two-day visit, both sides discussed and reached a consensus on further deepening their cooperative relationship and jointly promoting the development of the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology(SPEIT).

On the morning of the 4th, the college leadership held talks with the delegation, who congratulated the institute on obtaining a new 6-year accreditation from the French Engineering Title Commission (CTI). Discussions were held on student exchange, international recruitment, and industry-academia cooperation. École des Ponts ParisTech, which merged into the IPP group in August this year, decided with both parties to sign a student exchange agreement in the near future, further expanding the international study scope for students at the institute.

On the afternoon of the 4th, the delegation exchanged ideas and experiences with colleagues responsible for industry-academia cooperation and alumni relations at the institute, discussing how to deepen cooperation.

On the morning of the 5th, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at Shanghai Jiao Tong University received the delegation at Donghui Garden, where discussions were held on the "Shanghai Jiao Tong University - Institut Polytechnique de Paris" seed fund, the renewal of the double PhD agreement, and student exchange agreements, with both sides deciding to advance the signing of a series of agreements in the near future.

Subsequently, the delegation discussed specific work on student exchange, international recruitment and integration, and visiting teachers with the institute's Cooperation and Development Office.

On the evening of the 5th, the delegation held a dual-degree and exchange program information session in the 205 lecture hall of the Sino-French Building, attracting more than 80 students from various grades at the institute. The atmosphere was enthusiastic, and students had in-depth exchanges with the delegation members.
