On January 16, 2023,The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics organized a New Year celebration and traditional culture experience activity for its international students who stayed on campus during the winter break. The event was hosted by Xu Yongjian and Gao Jin from the Student Affairs Office.

During the event, Wu Shufan delivered a New Year message on behalf of the School, encouraging students to make the most of their winter break by balancing their studies and personal life, and to take good care of their health while enjoying a fulfilling and joyful "Chinese New Year" on campus.

The international students then worked together to make New Year's blessing buckets, creating a festive atmosphere for the upcoming Chinese New Year. Li Wei, a teacher, not only demonstrated the steps for making the buckets but also explained the cultural significance of the accessories used, such as silver willows, winter berries, and lucky fans, making the cultural experience even more meaningful and interesting.

Each student used their own creativity to trim branches, plant willows, and decorate their blessing buckets with accessories. BRYZGALOV VLADIMIR, a 2022 graduate student from Russia, said that making blessing buckets was a unique and enjoyable experience that allowed him to truly feel the joy of welcoming Chinese New Year.

Finally, the event concluded with a competition for the best blessing bucket display.
