The Online Orientation for Chinese Language Program Students Held in the School of Humanities

On February 10, 2023, the online orientation for Chinese language program students was held in the School of Humanities at SJTU. The orientation was hosted by Prof. Wang Jun, Assistant Dean and Director of the school’s International Chinese Education Center.

Prof. Cai Wenjing, Vice Dean of the school, delivered a welcome address. She introduced the School of Humanities and encouraged the students to work hard and to keep fit as well. She also looked forward to meeting the students here at SJTU soon.

Prof. Li Shijian from the International Chinese Education Center introduced the features of online Chinese learning, and advised the students to interact more with the teachers and make a study plan. Ms. Xiao Wei from the Academic Affairs Office, Ms. Dai Xing from the International Student Service Center and Ms. Li Xiaoxuan from the International Office explained the course arrangements, visa policies, student activities, international programs and other relevant affairs respectively.

Student representative Zhang Xiaoli from Cuba shared her experience of learning Chinese and spoke highly of the school faculty and the teaching quality. The attendees were also impressed by her enthusiasm and fluent Chinese.

Later, students watched a video made by the International Student Service Center about life and study at SJTU and achieved a better understanding of SJTU. A Q&A session was also arranged to help solve the students’ problems and prepare them for the new semester.
