能源需求量的增加与传统能源使用过程中造成的环境污染问题,使得开发清洁可再生新能源极为迫切。氢能是一种理想的清洁能源:首先,氢能利用过程中的唯一副产物为水;其次,氢元素储量丰富。然而,氢元素通常与其他元素如碳、氮、氧等形成较强的化学键稳定存在于化合物中。因此,从这些化合物中提取氢气,需要外加能量及找到合适的化学反应途径。而使相关化学反应简

单、可行、环境友好及低能耗,是氢能制取目前所面临的挑战。此外,尽管氢能具有最高的质量能量密度,其体积能量密度极低,因此,氢能利用中所面临的另一重要难点是开发合适的储氢材料与技术,在不降低氢能高质量能量密度的同时,提高其体积能量密度。本课程将从制氢与储氢基本原理出发,详细讲述各类制氢与储氢相关材料与技术,并介绍其研究进展。

本课程共分为16章,包括氢的基本物化性质、氢燃料的特点、制氢技术中的基本化学原理、各类制氢及储氢技术等内容。通过此课程的学习,可全面的掌握制氢与储氢技术基本原理,了解各类制氢与储氢技术的优缺点、研究进展,及面临的挑战。

* Description

Energy is one ofthe most important issues for humankind. Increasing the energy

demand and serious environmental effects ofconventional energy sources have broughtabout the need for new, clean and sustainable energy. Hydrogen (H2) is arguably an

ideal fuel in many ways. First, when H2is consumed for energy production, theonly

byproduct is water that is clean and useful.Second, hydrogen is themost abundant

element in the universe. However, it exists in stable and strong chemical bonds with

other elements such as C, N and O. To extract hydrogen from these compounds not onlyrequires external energy input, but also specific chemical reaction routes. How to make

such reactions simple, accessible, environmentally sustainable, and energetically

efficient represents one ofthe greatest challenges. In addition, although hydrogen has

the highest mass energy density among all the chemical fuels, it has almost the lowest

volumetric energy density. Thus, another giant challenge for hydrogen fuel is how to

store hydrogen with improved volumetric energy density while keeping the mass energydensity high. In this course, the fundamental properties ofhydrogen as well as the basicprinciples and recent developments in the generation and storage ofH2as a potential

sustainable energy carrier will be presented.

The course contains 16 lectures, including the basic physiochemical propertiesof

hydrogen, the characters of hydrogen as an energy carrier, the fundamental chemicalprinciples for hydrogen generation, the various hydrogen generation technologies,aswell as the hydrogen storage systems. The coursewill providethestudentwiththe

fundamental principles and technologies for renewable hydrogen generationand

storage as well as the latest progresses and challengesin this attractingresearcharea.
