Educational Background

Darius Corbier earned his PhD in Economics in 2021 from Paris-Dauphine PSL University (France), under the supervision of Prof. Frédéric Gonand. Before his PhD, he completed a Master's in Energy and Environmental Economics from Paris-Dauphine PSL University in 2016.

Bio

Darius Corbier is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the China-UK Low Carbon College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Before joining SJTU, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE), part of the Fondazione Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici (CMCC), from 2022 to 2025.

Research Fields

Darius Corbier's research primarily focuses on assessing the socioeconomic, resource and climatic impacts of climate change mitigation policies, with a focus on circular economy systems.

He is currently developing the CIRCular Energy-Economy (CIRCEE) model, which analyzes the key transmission channels of circular economy strategies at both the consumer and producer levels. His current research focuses on technological advancement toward green product design, the role of consumers in enabling the circular economy, and the role of critical materials in climate change mitigation.

The CIRCEE model has been developed since his post-doctoral years at the Fondazione Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici (CMCC), through his participation in Horizon Europe projects CIRCOMOD and PRISMA.
